Aircraft mechanic training

a diverse apprenticeship

Since the summer of 2020, AIR HAMBURG TECHNIK has been active as a company offering apprenticeships in cooperation with the Karlsruhe Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Dreams can really come true with the apprenticeship program for aircraft mechanics - apprentices get to know a completely different side of AIR HAMBURG's jets through their work both on and inside the aircraft. The first apprentice to join, Ariane Domnick, has been part of the international maintenance crew since June 2021. In her training as an aircraft mechanic specializing in maintenance technology, she is primarily involved in jet maintenance, which entails learning how aircraft are built, serviced and maintained.

During her work at Baden-Airpark, she has to prove her dexterity and teamwork skills on a daily basis. Currently, in her 3rd year of training, she will complete her apprenticeship at the end of this year. She is already preparing for the practical part of the exam, which will be a "Flap Transmission Brake".

At the GTS Offenbach vocational school near Frankfurt, she is also attending theoretical classes on air law, high-speed wing profile shapes and many other topics. To prepare for her final exam in the best possible way, she is taking part in a one-month exam preparation course. Ariane is also often given the opportunity to visit various industry events, such as the International Aerospace Exhibition in Berlin, which demonstrates the program variety offered by the school.
